Failed the Nevada real estate exam? Here's exactly what to do next
A practical plan for retaking the Nevada salesperson exam — how the two-section retake works, what your Pearson VUE score report tells you, and the NV-law traps to fix.

Only about half of Nevada candidates pass on the first try — the state's first-attempt pass rate hovers around 52%. If you didn't pass, you're in good company. What separates people who get licensed from people who stall is what they do in the next two weeks.
Read the score report first
Your Pearson VUE score report breaks your result down by content area. That's the map. Nevada's state section concentrates in license practice (24%), agency (20%), and disclosures (20%) — if those bands are low, you've found most of your missing points already.
Study only what the report flags. Re-reading what you already know is the classic retaker mistake.
Nevada retake rules
- Two independently-scored sections — national (80) and Nevada state (40). Pass one, keep it; you re-sit only the section you failed.
- You reschedule through Pearson VUE and pay the exam fee again.
- You must pass each section at 75% — 60 of 80 national, 30 of 40 state.
- Register with the Nevada Real Estate Division before you schedule.
Target the Nevada-specific traps
- The agency disclosure is the 'Duties Owed by a Nevada Licensee' form — not the IABS, Consumer Notice, or Working With Real Estate Agents form.
- To represent two parties, Nevada uses a signed CONSENT TO ACT.
- In a common-interest community (HOA), the seller must give the buyer the resale package — heavily tested.
- Client money goes into the broker's trust account; advance fees are specifically regulated.
- Nevada is a community-property state.
Rebook when your practice clears 75%
Nevada passes at 75% on each section, so practicing to 'about 70' is a plan to fail twice. Drill your flagged areas until your practice accuracy sits comfortably in the high 70s to 80s, take at least two full timed simulations of both sections, then rebook. That's exactly what AgentExamCoach's score-report upload automates — it maps your report onto the exam and tells you when your projected score clears the bar.
Common questions
What is the pass rate for the Nevada real estate exam?
Nevada's first-attempt pass rate is roughly 52% — you must pass both a national and a Nevada-specific section, each at 75%.

No. The national and state sections are scored independently. If you passed one, it stands — you re-sit only the section you failed, through Pearson VUE.
